“Go down the street”

«Идём по улице»

Открытый урок в 6 – ом классе

Цель урока:

формирование обобщенных знаний по теме: “Go down the street” и оперирование ими на практике;

образовательный компонент цели:

расширение лингвистического кругозора учащихся;

— развивающий компонент цели:

развитие языковых способностей учащихся, готовности к коммуникации;

— воспитательный компонент цели:

создание условий для формирования у учащихся интереса к культуре страны изучаемого языка;

практический компонент цели:

формирование и совершенствование практических навыков владения лексикой, расширение словарного запаса учащихся, развитие навыков аудирования, чтения и говорения.


Оборудование:


— наглядный материал по теме;


— рисунки учащихся по теме;


— учебник «Английский язык для 6 – ого класса общеобразовательных учреждений»

Ход урока:

1. Организационный этап.

Teacher: Good morning, dear pupils. Glad to see you. I hope you are fine today and ready to work hard at the lesson. Our topic today is “Go down the street”. We learn how to behave in the street and how to ask polite questions.


2. Этап актуализации знаний.

Teacher: Now let’s review the words that you’ve learnt. Repeat after me these words.

(См. упр.1 стр. 41)

Pupils repeat these words after the teacher.

Teacher: Now let’s translate these words from English into Russian.

Teacher pronounces the words, all pupils translate them.

Teacher: Very well! Now let’s translate these words from Russian into English.

Teacher pronounces the words, all pupils translate them.

Teacher: Good. Now the next task. You have to compose word combinations with these words on the blackboard. The pictures on the blackboard will help you. Then you need to translate these word combinations.


На доске написаны слова, а рядом помещены картинки. Учащиеся должны составить словосочетания с данными словами при помощи картинок.


Pupils: on the right side of the road

(на правой стороне дороги)

on the left side of the street

(на левой стороне улицы)

to go past the bank

(пройти мимо банка)

opposite the hospital

(напротив больницы)

between the houses

(между домами)

on the corner of the shop

(на углу магазина).


3. Этап формирования новых знаний.

Teacher: Very well! Now let’s imagine that we are in London. We are lost. We need to ask someone the way. And let’s learn how to ask polite questions in the street. Open your textbooks and look at Page 41. Read the rule.

Teacher reads the rule and writes on the blackboard this question:

“Can you tell me…..”


Teacher: Did you understand the rule?

Pupils: Yes.




4. Этап закрепления новых знаний.


Teacher: Now try to ask such polite questions. Look at Page 42 Ex. 2.

You have to ask polite questions. Don’t forget to begin them with the words:”Can you tell me…”


Pupils do Ex. 2 Page 42.


Teacher: Well. Now the next task. Listen the text on the tape – recorder.

Pupils listen the dialogue 2 times:

— Excuse me, can you tell me

where the office is?

— Go down the street, turn right, go past

the shop and you are there.

— Thank you very much.


Teacher: I hope you’ve understood this conversation very well. Now let’s check it.

I’ll read the sentences. Lift your hands if the sentence is right and don’t lift your hands if it is wrong.:

1. A man asks where the bank is.

(Pupils don’t lift their hands)

2. A man asks where the office is.

(Pupils lift their hands)

3. He was told to turn right and go past the shop.

(Pupils lift their hands)

4. He was told to turn left and go past the shop.

(Pupils don’t lift their hands).


Teacher: I see you’ve really understood everything very well. Now talk to each other! I’ll give you the pictures of London’s places of interest. Make dialogues asking each other the way to this place.

Pupils: — Excuse me, can you tell me where Trafalgare Square is?

— Turn left, go past the bank and you are there.

— Thank you.


Учащиеся составляют аналогичные диалоги по разным картинкам с достопримечательностями Лондона.


Teacher: Well. Now let’s read and translate. Look at Page 42 in your textbooks Ex. 4. Read and translate the first dialogue.


Pupils do this task.


Teacher: Now read and translate the third dialogue.


Pupils do this task.


Teacher: Very well. Now the next task. Use the map and write the dialogue with “station”, “police station”.




На доске висит карта.


Pupils write in their copy-books, two pupils write the dialogues on the blackboard:

— Can you tell me where the station is?

— Go up the street. Go past the museum and turn right.


5. Подведение итогов урока.

Teacher: At this lesson we tried to learn how to behave in the street. I like your work at the lesson. Thank you. Many pupils have got good and excellent marks at this lesson.

6. Этап информирования учащихся о домашнем задании.


Teacher: You have to give detailed answers to the the questions and be ready to dramatize the dialogues from Ex. A Page 44. The lesson is over. Good-bye.
