Роль чтения при изучении английского языка

Чтение текстов на английском языке — один из способов изучения языка. Тексты на английском языке, если они правильно подобраны, могут помочь в изучении языка. Неправильно и неумело подобранные тексты на английском языке способны отбить охоту и желание изучать язык даже у хороших учащихся. Важно не только правильно подобрать тексты, но и правильно с этими текстами работать. Основной принцип работы с текстами на английском языке заключается в их чтении. Но чтение текстов может быть разным, как по своим целям, так и по способам, которыми эти цели достигаются. Самыми распространенными целями, которых добивается читатель при чтении текстов на английском языке, являются: пополнение общего или тематического словарного запаса учащихся. Тренировку в произношении английских слов и выражений, также можно осуществлять в ходе работы над текстом. Работая над текстами учебников можно успешно закреплять правила английской грамматики путем разбора типичных примеров, встречающихся в тексте и их многократного повторения, с целью запоминания. На базе чтения различных текстов можно развивать навыки устной речи, как монологической, так и диалогической. Очевидно, что для всех этих целей необходим подбор соответствующих этим целям текстов на английском языке.

Чтение английских с большим количеством новых слов, будет отнимать много времени на обращение к словарю и снизит эффективность запоминания новых слов. Хорошим вариантом работы с текстами на английском языке является чтение небольших фрагментов с приведенным в конце или начале переводом наиболее сложных слов и выражений, на закрепление этих слов. Перевод слов сэкономит время на обращение к словарю.

Источником текстов на английском языке могут служить учебники английского языка из курса средней школы. Они хороши тем, что английские тексты в них обычно расположены в порядке возрастания сложности, учебный материал тщательно дозирован, а в конце текста обычно приводятся задания и упражнения по прочитанному тексту. Они помогают лучше усвоить новый лексический материал. Для начинающих изучение английского языка идеально подойдут старые учебники, отличающиеся от современных образцов очень тщательной проработкой учебного материала и высоким качеством его подачи. Предлагаю текст “Our Environment” на развитие навыков монологического высказывания.

Our environment

People have always studied living things in their natural environment.

The environment is all the things we need to be able to live – clean water to drink and to wash with, air to breathe and healthy food to eat. We can’t live without plants and animals. They help to make the soil, they clean the water and air, and they give us all our food

The world is our home and we want to see it clean and beautiful. At the same time we take from nature as much as we can. We cut down forests and build farms, houses, roads and factories on the land. While doing it we pollute the environment. We dump domestic and industrial waste in the country and pour toxic waste into rivers, seas and oceans. Our rivers, seas and oceans are in danger. They are filled with industrial and nuclear waste.

Cars and factories, plants and power stations pollute the air. Air pollution is very dangerous for people. It is dangerous to breathe toxic air.

Ecological problems are very important nowadays. People have to think about all these ecological problems if they want to survive and save life on our planet

Earth is our home. We must take care of our planet. Our planet should be safe to live on.

People should always clean their environment if they want to be healthy and happy.
