Цель урока:

• расширение кругозора учащихся, развитие интереса к изучению иностранного языка посредством занимательных форм обучения.

Задачи урока:

1. Практическая:

• формирование умения применять лексику по теме «Christmas»;

• формирование коммуникативной культуры школьников;

• развитие речевого умения (монологическая и диалогическая форма речи);

• развитие навыков аудирования.

2. Развивающая:

• совершенствование воображения, логического мышления, внимания, памяти у учащихся;

• развитие познавательного интереса и коммуникативной деятельности у учащихся.

3. Воспитательная:

• воспитание интереса к культуре стран изучаемого языка у учащихся;

• формирование положительной мотивации учения, готовности воспринимать культуру другого народа;

• формирование чувства ответственности, коллективизма, сотворчества, самореализации.

4. Образовательная:

• знакомство учащихся с традициями и праздниками стран изучаемого языка;

• расширение с помощью английского языка представления обучающихся об окружающем их мире, как средстве взаимодействия с этим миром.

Оснащение урока: презентация (Power Point), компьютер, мультимедийный проектор, экран, раздаточный материал.

Ход урока:

1. Организационный момент.

Good morning boys and girls. Glad to meet you.

There are many holidays in our country and English-speaking countries. But the holidays we like most of all are Christmas Day and New Year’s Day. People prepare for these holidays beforehand: they send greeting cards, buy presents, make fancy dresses and decorate their houses. The subject of our lesson is «Christmas «. Today we’ll speak about Christmas – a beautiful holiday which is loved by children and adults. All the tasks will be connected with Christmas.

As you see our lesson is unusual. There are a lot of guests here: they are our English teachers and our head teacher. And we will try to amaze them. Please, be active, sociable and friendly to each other.

Today we’ll speak about Christmas and the aim is to learn more facts about this day, doing interesting exercises, solving a crossword and singing a song.

Christmas

Americans celebrate Christmas on December 25. Christmas is a religious holiday and one of the happiest holidays of the year because it is the day that Christians celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ. We prepare for Christmas weeks before. We buy gifts for our family and friends. People buy and send Christmas cards with the message «Merry Christmas!» We choose a tree and decorate it with ornaments and lights. And we prepare special foods and cookies. The typical meal consists of turkey with potatoes and other vegetables such as carrots and sprouts (брюссельская капуста). This is followed by Christmas pudding — a sweet pudding Christmas is also the day that Santa Claus visits us and brings us presents in bright paper and ribbons. He delivers them on Christmas Eve, the night before Christmas, when we are sleeping. How^: does he get into our house? He climbs down the chimney and leaves the presents under the Christmas tree or m a Christmas stocking. There is a tradition that children should put a long sock called a Christmas stocking at the end of their bed or by the chimney. So Santa Claus will fill it with presents: tangerines, nuts sweets. In the morning, we open out presents together and then we go to church. People wish each other «Merry Christmas!»
