Конспект урока по английскому языку для 6 класса

«Kate’s secret diary. Talking about relatives»

(УМК «Enjoy English-3», под редакцией М.З. Биболетовой, Н.В.Добрыниной, Н.Н.Трубаневой)

Развивающий аспект — развитие творческих способностей учащихся, развитие оперативной памяти, способности к догадке, к сравнению, развитие способности к выбору выражений, адекватных ситуаций общения;

Учебный аспект – развитие речевых умений (говорить, писать, общаться)

Сопутствующая задача – скрытый контроль уровня сформированности речевых умений;

Воспитательный аспект – развитие умений работать в группе, формирование терпимого отношения и уважения мнения другого человека, воспитывать интерес к изучению английского языка, к культуре и традициям страны изучаемого языка, воспитание бережного отношения к семейным традициям.

Оборудование: УМК «Enjoy English-3», под редакцией М.З. Биболетовой, Н.В.Добрыниной, Н.Н.Трубаневой; иллюстрации по теме «Weather», аудиокассета, раздаточный материал «Страницы дневника».

Ход урока:

1. Орг. момент. (TCL; TP1, P2, P3)

T: Dear friends! What do you know about English families? I mean, what is a typical English family? Who can say?

P1: I think, it is a close family, where all members of the family get on well with each other.

P2: English parents give their children more freedom and love.

T: What do you know about Russian families?

P3: Relations in Russian families are very important. Parents give their children more love too.

P1: They must set a good example to their children.

T: I agree with you, children.

2. Brainstorm activity T: Today we speak about Kate Green’s family. She lives in Great Britain. Her native town is Oxford. She says that they are a typical English family. There are six of them in the family: a mother, a father, a granny, a grandpa, her baby sister and her brother. Kate sends her secret diary for us about her family. But at first, we must repeat English words before, we’ll open her diary.

a) Task 1: Listen and repeat the words. (Ex 2 p 123)

b) Task 2: Read the transcription. (Eх 6 p 123)

с). T: Kate wrote in the diary, that English people like to speak about the weather. And what do you know about Russian people? How do they ask each other about the weather?

d) Task 3: Please, translate my phrases:

— What is the weather like today?

— There’s a clear blue sky.

— It’s cloudy and cold.

— It’s a lovely day.

— The weather’s miserable.

— I don’t like sort of weather. (Etc)

e) T: Now, please ask your classmates about the weather. Work in pairs. Let’s try and help each other. (P1-P2; P3-P4; P5-P6)

P2: It’s fine. There’s a clear blue sky.

P1: Oh, good.

— P3: What’s the weather like?

P4: It’s raining and it’s cold.

P3: Have you got my red pullover?

P4: Yes, it’s in the living room.

— P5: The weather’s miserable. The sky is cloudy.

P6: It isn’t sunny and warm. It’s cloudy and cold. I don’t want to go to school.

It’s always raining.

P5: Come on. Come and have your breakfast.

P6: All right.

— P1: It isn’t raining today. It’s bright and sunny.

P2: There is a clear blue sky. It’s a lovely day.

P1: Good. Is it warm?

P2: Yes, it is warm and sunny.

— P3: What’s the weather like?

P4: It’s cloudy and grey.

P3: Have you got an umbrella?

P4: Yes, your father’s umbrella is in the kitchen.

P3: Thanks.

3. Complex relaxation T: Children, do you want to relax? Let’s relax with Kate Green. She likes to do this exercises everyday. ( комплексная релаксация)

Teacher: Sit comfortably. Clouse your eyes.

Breathe in, breathe out.

Let’s pretend, it’s summer. You are lying on a sandy beach. The weather is fine. The light wind is blowing from the sea. The birds are singing. You have no troubles. No serious problems. You are quiet. Your brain relaxes.

There is calm in your body.

Nothing diverts your attention. You are relaxing.

Your troubles float away.

You love your relatives, your school, and your friends. They love you too.

Learn to appreciate every good thing.

The Earth is full of wonders.

4. Отработка с учащимися активной лексики и грамматического материала в рамках учебной темы. T: Now, please we are ready to read Kate’s secret diary.(учащимся раздаются страницы дневника)

a) Task 1: Read the text and answer the questions.

T-P1, P2, P3.

T: What is this text about?

P: This text is about Kate’s family.

T: What is your mother’s name? How old is she?

P: Her name is Jane. She is 35 years old.

T: How old is her grandma?

P: She is 70 years old.

T: Can she make cookies?

P: Yes, she can make cookies, but she often burns them.

T: What is his brother’s hobby?

P: His hobby is computer games. (Etc)

b) Task 2: Read and mark the sentences R (Right), W (Wrong) or DS (Doesn’t Say).

c) Task 3: Which adjectives describe Kate’s family members? Tell the class.

d) Task 4: Use Kate’s diary to complete sentences 1-5 with can or can’t.

— Jane ___ play the guitar.

— Emma ____ walk.

— Helen ____ make cookies.

— David ____ speak Russian.

— Ben ____ make people laugh.

5. T; Kate says, that relations in the family are very important. Read please what she says about the parents’ responsibilities. Do you agree with these ideas? Say what you think about it.

a) Task 1:

— Parents must give their children more love.

— Parents must talk to their children more often.

— Parents must try to understand their children.

— Parents must help their children with problems they have at school.

— Parents must give their children more freedom.

— Parents must set a good example to their children.

b) Task 2: Read what these parents think about their children’s responsibilities. Say what you think about it.

— Children must do their homework by themselves.

— Children must help us with the washing up.

— Children must set the table before dinner and clear up after dinner every day.

— Children must help us in the garden.

— Children must take out the rubbish early in the morning.

6. T: Kate sent us the picture. Who is this person?

Task 1: What does she look like? Fill in the blanks.(учащиеся выполняют задание)

7. T: Please complete this application in BLOCK CAPITALS.

8. T: Now, please read the poem for Kate. (Ex: 18 p128)

9.Подведение итогов, оценки, домашнее задание. (написать сочинение

My family. My secret diary”.

T: Thank you for the lesson. See you soon. Good-bye, dear friends.
